Islamic Design

I chose to focus my project on the Islamic design since it has a creative style. I was drawn to the bright colors, various geometric patterns, and playful architecture. The historic nature of the design and its long-lasting influence inspired and challenged me to bring a culture with such a historic significance into a current design with a modern flare.​

Initially I selected two photographs that were the springboard to the rest of the inspiration of my living room design. Reviewing the history of the era, helped me clarify the details of the elements. I then determined the main furniture components of the living room. Lastly, I was able to add in the lighting and accessories to tie it all together.​
